You are not quite a major clan, but still prestigious and well armed. If there's ever a time to raise your position to among the first rank of powers, this has to be it.

===Major Shrine===

You are one of the most important Shinto Shrines in Amahara. You may even be part of those who decide the apostle, the lands nominal ruler. The Shogunate however has restricted your power for many generations, rendering the apostle a mere figurehead. Now in this time of disorder you have a chance to restore Amahara to the true path.

====Ikoma Hikari-hime (Shrike)====
You are one of the largest Buddhist organizations in Amahara, with numerous monks and other adherents under your banner. You and your fellows are well placed to see the excesses and hardships dealt by the great clans and Samurai, but will you seek to reform or overthrow them?

Katsuyori however was raised in the Ikoma household itself from adolescence to be a direct retainer to the Ikoma clan. Of relatively normal height, dark haired to a degree some might call 'raven', Katsuyori is fully trained in the traditional weapons and carries a daisho given to him upon upon his appointment to his post. Generally somewhat stoic and glum on duty and otherwise quite private, implying secrets to the curious, diligence and responsibility has often enough proven to be a key trait no matter the ideas of the romantics to the childhood friend, such as it was possible, to Hikari-hime.

====Akayama Ryunosuke (Five)====
The outer world offers many riches to those who know how to get them. Even more so in times of disorder at home like this. As a pirate clan, you intend to make those riches yours. If riches can be found at home also... well that's so much the better.

:: Born, or more accurately found by monks on the lower slopes of Mount Orashi, Akayama Ryunosuke is a warrior monk or Sōhei. Raised in the Mii-dera temple, Ryunosuke was a mountain of a child, with appetites and spirit to match. Despite attempts of the head monk to train him to be a good, docile monk throughout his childhood, the young man proved to be far too energetic for his attempts. In an attempt to find an outlet for the boy's energies, Ryunosuke was pushed into training to be a warrior monk, learning how to use the Naginata and how to wear armor. Surprisingly, this worked in a way. While Ryunosuke's did begin to drink and womanize less, he threw himself into combat training. Eventually, finding himself unfulfilled with life in the temple, Ryunosuke left Mii-Dera at age seventeen to wander Amahara.

::A year into his travels, Ryunosuke was challenged to a duel by the father of The Princess. In the end Ryunosuke lost, however, instead of killing the wandering monk, he brought Ryunosuke into his service. To this day, Ryunosuke continues to loyally serve the Ikoma-clan, and has pledged to himself and to the Buddha that he would die before he betrayed the Ikoma.

::Nakatomi no Chifuyu is was the youngest daughter of the Nakatomi branch family and a distant relative of Hikari-hime. Having been raised and pressed to work as a priestess from a young age, she feels slightly constrained by her duties, but nevertheless labors to help those around her pull themselves out of the hardships imposed by the merchants and samurai. Though forced to be a miko by a family that couldn't afford any more dowries, she is more than happy to make use of the power of her title to influence others with the intent to help others. She feels lukewarmly about her relatives in the Ikoma Clan and has a dislike of the samurai and their rampant abuses of the peasantry, but has a small soft spot for her cousin.

What Clan could do other than dream of becoming the Shogun?
+
::Chifuyu presents a very refined and demure image to those around her, acting pure and innocent when it suffices, despite a true character that is far more worldly. She is ambitious, headstrong and willing to cross political lines in order to help those in need. Thanks to her schooling, Chifyu is rather adept at worldly matters and well-read in matters of politics and religion, and hopes to curry favor with her relatives in order to ascend to a greater position of power within the court. A woman doesn't need to be a warrior or a wife to be powerful, after all.

+
Background
+
Fujiyama no Akiko was the daughter of Fujiyama no Ichiro, a minor independent daimyo. She too was an ordinary noble's daughter, taught to manage an estate and to practise the courtly arts. However her father was forced to take sides in one of the interminable clan wars that plagued the realm. Unfortunately they chose unwisely, as the war went against their ally Shimozawa no Kenichi he made a secret peace treaty ceding the lands of the Fujiyama clan. Treacherously he invited the Fujiyama clan to a conference, asking them to bring as many soldiers as they could. On the way they were ambushed and only Ichiro and a handful of his retainers survived.
+
+
Akiko's life after the treacherous ambush was one of fear and deprivation. They were hounded from place to place. One by one their faithful retainers were cut down. In the end they were given shelter by the father of The Princess, who thought that they could be useful. Living a fairly simple life her father taught her Iaido and how to use the deadly Cobra Cut to kill in the blink of an eye.
+
+
In the end the Shimozawa clan fell out with the Princess' clan and Akiko was given leave to take her revenge. The plan was really quite simple. While he was travelling he would often stay at a certain inn. By way of bribery Akiko was disguised as a maid who would wait at a feast. Since she was both a woman and unarmed no one paid any particular attention to her. That is until she took the lords sword and cut off his head with it. At that point she fully expected to die, but somehow she managed to slip away from the drunken confused samurai and mix with the fleeing, panicky servants.
+
+
Afterward she lacked any purpose, her revenge was spent, and soon her father died as well. Thus she was quite grateful to be made the bodyguard of the Princess. Having no family to distract her from her duty and a great debt of gratitude to the Princess' father, it seemed that Akiko was an ideal candidate.
===Weapon Upgrades===

:'''Superior Weapons'''

::Maybe taken more than once

Your troops have weapons of the finest quality, better at penetrating armour and better balanced for fighting.

:'''Heavy Weapons'''

Heavy weapons are specially built and treated to better pierce armour and defeat heavy units such as cavalry, stone skinned martial artists or demonic creatures. Unfortunately they're slow and tend to lose initiative to lighter stuff.

:'''Light Weapons'''

The opposite of heavy weapons, Light weapons tend to bounce off heavy armour but quickly triumph in contests of speed.

:'''Lengthened Weapon'''

::No Cost

::May not be purchased for Katana

Your units weapons are particularly long, excellent for attacking cavalry and fighting in ranks, they are somewhat unwieldy in other kinds of combat.

Your troops wear special heavy armour. It reduces their ability to move and tires them out, but offers unparallel protection.

Ashigaru may have one level of training, other units may have two. Each training costs 5 currency. Training maybe taken twice to be especially good, but this diminishes returns, especially for Combat Training.

:'''Combat Training'''

Your troops are generally better at fighting in a non-specific way.

:'''Improved Drill'''

:Slot Free

Your troops are better trained in retaining their ranks on the move, this is especially useful for spear units as it makes them much more mobile.

:'''Charge Training'''

Your troops are better at charging and attacking

:'''Defence Training'''

Your troops are better at defending and standing

:'''March Training'''

Your troops are better at moving, both tactically and strategically

:'''Stealth training'''

Your troops are stealthy, and possibly trained by ninjas.

:'''Siege Training'''

Your troops are good at overcoming castles and protecting themselves with ditches and temporary forts.

==Loyalty ==

:Costs 5 currency for first level loyalty and 10 currency for second level loyalty.

Loyal troops won't run, and likely won't stab you in the back either. This is always useful.

==Chi Arts==

While not as powerful as the Chi arts used by heroes, unit Chi arts never the less give them abilities far beyond those enjoyed by normal soldiers. It costs 5 currency to access Chi Arts and an additional

5 currency to buy each chi art. No unit may have more than 5 Chi Arts.

:'''Martial Arts'''

::The non-specialized chi art, Martial Arts reflects your units pure chi powered badassary.

:'''Terrify'''

::One common Chi technique is to inflict terror on the enemy, making all but the most loyal and stalwart types run away. Very effective on foreigners and mercenaries.

:'''Inspire'''

::The opposite of Terrify, inspire causes friendly units morale and fighting ability to increase.

:'''Healing'''

::Allows the chi user to heal nearby units, or even bring the recently dead back to life.

:'''Super Jump'''

::Super Jump allows rapid movement around the field, often from tree to tree.

:'''Illusions'''

::This allows for the creation of unit level illusions, misdirecting the enemy and leading them into ambushes

:'''Stone Skin'''

::Increases a units protection at the cost of slowing it down.

:'''Wind Sense'''

::Allows the Unit to detect ambushes, illusions and the like.

:'''Fire Attack'''

::Increases the units attack power, including allowing them to create small scale chi blasts.

:'''Water Evasion'''

::Increases the units dodge. While not as protective as stone skin it does not slow your soldiers down.

:'''Void Heart'''

::May not be taken unless at 4 other Chi arts are purchased.

::The ultimate form of Chi Art available to Units, a unit with void heart becomes almost unstoppably effective in combat, quick, fearless and unaffected by loss, they respond instantly to commands and seem able to read the enemies intent.

==Non-combat units==

:'''Ninjas'''

:Batch Size 100

Ninjas are widely employed by everyone in their struggle to become Shogun, for everything from scouting and spying to outright assassination. Ninjas can be employed on the field of battle but it's usually not worth the cost. However they excel at espionage and covert warfare.

Ninjas maybe upgraded with chi arts.

:'''Police'''

:Batch Size 200

Police enforce order without tying down valuable combat troops and may fight ninjas and other insurgent types.

:'''Spies'''

:Batch Size 200

Non-combatant spies. Unlike ninjas they can't really fight, but they're pretty good at finding information.
