If Corrigedor is the heart of PACT’s colonial efforts, and Horizon is its mind, then Pacifica is its shield. Pacifica had to bear the brunt of the drone attacks during the course of the Eridanus campaign, forcing it to build and maintain the most powerful Core navy off Earth. This resulted in a highly developed industry, which played a large part in expanding the catapult chain into the Expanse during the Breakdown, while the decades of constant attacks ingrained a siege mentality into the populace. During the run up to the ZOCU war, Pacifica’s industry retooled itself back to a wartime one, and once again during the war in an attempt to develop aerospace craft capable of countering ZOCU’s highly effective and lethal mecha force. In recent years, a change in the political landscape due to war weariness has led to the election of a radical new leadership, and the populace has now been galvanized into looking outwards, utilizing its massive armada for peacekeeping and disaster relief efforts out in the Rim. Pacficia’s latest generation of cruisers have been designed with such missions in mind, equipped with expanded cargo bays, medical facilities and even science labs, and have been placed under the newly formed Survey Command. However, the new government is still fighting an uphill battle against the military leadership, which still views its role as preparing for a repeat of the ZOCU War.

Under the aegis of the Resource Development Association, this group bought the colonization and mining rights to a recently surveyed planet which had been found to have rich deposits of base minerals. The colonization went smoothly, and it swiftly began to turn a comfortable profit for the Association.
