Lt. Commander Abdelmouaiz Joineville had wrecked his promising career as a Horizon Fleet operations officer for reasons he'd prefer not to discuss, when he was poached by SOLAR to run Geode-engines for the nascent TWILIGHT fleet of fast attack umbraships. In hindsight, it may have been best to refuse the offer.
