'''Aidan Cache''' | |||
:The Impiraght built many secret caches of weapons and supplies in its far-flung outposts during its two centuries of existence, particularly and notably during the reign of Aidan Stewart V (934-952 NE). The destruction of the old New Edinburgh military HQ in 980 NE saw most of the administrative records regarding their construction, location and inventory lost in a small nuclear fireball. While many have since been found and looted, other Aidan Caches are still believed to exist, hidden away in various remote locations.
:Aidan Caches will have significant amounts of TL4 weapons (mostly battlemechs) and large stocks of stored ether.

:The oldest warship in the Impiraght's fleet, the MacDuffs were originally intended to be light cruisers (eventually ressurected in concept decades later as the Niamah class) but progressive redesigns and mission creep resulted in some of the largest warships of the era, capable of carrying a half-dozen dropships as well as a full squadron of fighters - making them, in essence, one-ship invasion forces. Giving many decades of service, by the fall of the Impiraght they were suffering from excessive malfunction rates and were mostly filling out second-line squadrons in Gael Cygni. Maintained solely at the caretaker level for the subsequent two decades, the return of the High King and the change in foreign policy has ignited a debate on if they should be reactivated for frontline service, maintained in mothballs or finally scrapped.

One of the more common warships in the old Impiraght fleet and still present in significant numbers, the Niamah cruiser is an aging but still competent design. Dating from an era where fleet combat was all but unheard of and enemy aerospace assets were unlikely to be more than a handful of patrol ships or exoatmospheric fighters, these cruisers are as much armed transport as they are line warship; they have the ability to carry up to three light dropships but their single array of cluster missile pods does not give them appreciably more firepower than a destroyer. However, they are well-armored and furthermore carry a 4.7m high-energy optical laser in a ventral mount. This weapon is specifically made for orbit-to-surface fire and was used both during landing operations and in support of groundside troops. Modern refits over the past half-decade have greatly improved various pieces of equipment on these ships.

The Cian Llyr design dates back to the first Impiraght ships to "discover" the Sodomorra system. Designed as a fast scout, a small number of these warships still serve in the High King's fleet, all of which have been refitted over the years. The massive batteries of naval autocannons bristling from the Cian Llyr gave them decisive firepower superiority over most local opponents, but the combination of high speed requirement and physically heavy arsenal meant that armor tonnage needed to be sacrificed.

:Impressed by the success of Thetan Syreen, the Ceilidh commissioned a handful of similar fightercraft. Eschewing the usual Gael Gygnan philosophy of entirely internal carriage of ordnance, the Nicnevin has a variety of external equipment packs - or so the theory goes. Various technical problems have delayed the introduction of these and the consequent validation of the concept.

:+1 Missiles | |||
:+1 Agility | |||
:+1 Speed | |||
:-1 No Rails | |||
:12pp/25 | |||
:The Selkie is a high-performance fighter and typical of the aircraft used by the various Clans to wrest air superiority from their enemies. Originally designed as a transatmospheric aerospace fighter, most of the extant examples have been downgraded with simpler, more cost-effective supercruising turbofans instead of fusion scramrockets.

:-1 Atmosphere Only | |||
:12pp/25 | |||
:A heavily armored strike aircraft, extremely effective at attacking ground targets and equally popular with its flight crews thanks to its ability to absorb punishment and return home. Unfortunately the Caoineag has poor aerodynamic lift and requires a dense atmosphere to fly properly.

:-1 Atmosphere Only | |||
:8pp/10 | |||
:Born from the unusual requirement to 'put an artillery cannon on a fighter', the Aibell has proved surprisingly successful in service - particularly in the Battle of Càrn Mòr Toul where a trio of Gordon dropships were shot down on final approach.
Cirein-cròin (Heavy Bomber)
:+1 Bombs | |||
:+1 Armor | |||
:-1 No Rails | |||
:-1 Atmosphere Only | |||
:4pp/4 | |||
:The Cirein-cròin is an unusual weapon for Gael Cygni - a strategic bomber. Built in secret by Clan Gordon, they were launched into combat during the Samhain Offensive and over the course of the subsequently seven months did as much damage to the Connacht's industrial base as the previous decade of bombing put together. Improved air defenses finally stemmed the tide and inflicted unacceptable attrition, but it was all too late. The survivors have spent most of the last two decades in hangars, only flown occasionally and with substantial escort.

:The most powerful mass-produced contemporary AFV in the galaxy, the Doom Braegan - Doom Bringer - is aptly named. In addition to a fixed arsenal of heavy gauss autocannons, missile pods and autotargeting pulse lasers, most of them are also fitted with a heavy plasma cannon which can be ejected in case of battle damage or critical overheat. All of this is controlled by a single human pilot and a powerful onboard combat AI acting as 'crew'. A subset of the Doom Braegans have been further improved by the use of adamantium alloys and ambrium-enhanced power systems.

Aidan Cache
- The Impiraght built many secret caches of weapons and supplies in its far-flung outposts during its two centuries of existence, particularly and notably during the reign of Aidan Stewart V (934-952 NE). The destruction of the old New Edinburgh military HQ in 980 NE saw most of the administrative records regarding their construction, location and inventory lost in a small nuclear fireball. While many have since been found and looted, other Aidan Caches are still believed to exist, hidden away in various remote locations.
- Aidan Caches will have significant amounts of TL4 weapons (mostly battlemechs) and large stocks of stored ether.

- The oldest warship in the Impiraght's fleet, the MacDuffs were originally intended to be light cruisers (eventually ressurected in concept decades later as the Niamah class) but progressive redesigns and mission creep resulted in some of the largest warships of the era, capable of carrying a half-dozen dropships as well as a full squadron of fighters - making them, in essence, one-ship invasion forces.

- The Cavanagh is a conventional heavy cruiser design intended for close support of Gael Cygnan fleets, designed and built in view of the general age and tactical obselescence of most of the former Impiraght fleet.

- One of the more common warships in the old Impiraght fleet and still present in significant numbers, the Niamah cruiser is an aging but still competent design.

- Impressed by the success of Thetan Syreen, the Ceilidh commissioned a handful of similar fightercraft. Eschewing the usual Gael Gygnan philosophy of entirely internal carriage of ordnance, the Nicnevin has a variety of external equipment packs - or so the theory goes. Various technical problems have delayed the introduction of these and the consequent validation of the concept.

Designs
Selkie (Fighter)
- +1 Missiles
- +1 Agility
- +1 Speed
- -1 No Rails
- 12pp/25
- The Selkie is a high-performance fighter and typical of the aircraft used by the various Clans to wrest air superiority from their enemies. Originally designed as a transatmospheric aerospace fighter, most of the extant examples have been downgraded with simpler, more cost-effective supercruising turbofans instead of fusion scramrockets.
Caoineag (Strike Fighter)
- +1 ATG Ordnance
- +1 Shields
- +1 Armor
- -1 No Rails
- -1 Atmosphere Only
- 12pp/25
- A heavily armored strike aircraft, extremely effective at attacking ground targets and equally popular with its flight crews thanks to its ability to absorb punishment and return home. Unfortunately the Caoineag has poor aerodynamic lift and requires a dense atmosphere to fly properly.
Aibell (Strike Fighter) http://www.sarna.net/wiki/images/2/27/Transit-13g.png
- +1 Centreline Cannon
- +1 Antishipping Weapon
- +1 Extended Range
- -1 No Rails
- -1 Atmosphere Only
- 8pp/10
- Born from the unusual requirement to 'put an artillery cannon on a fighter', the Aibell has proved surprisingly successful in service - particularly in the Battle of Càrn Mòr Toul where a trio of Gordon dropships were shot down on final approach.
Cirein-cròin (Heavy Bomber)
- +1 Bombs
- +1 Armor
- -1 No Rails
- -1 Atmosphere Only
- 4pp/4
- The Cirein-cròin is an unusual weapon for Gael Cygni - a strategic bomber.
Tangie Mech Transport (Heavy Airlift)
- +2 Mech Bay
- +1 Shields
- 16pp/10
- 1,200 CP (vehicles)
- The venable Tangie has been in service in various forms for a century, evolving from a fairly run-of-the-mill transport aircraft to the ubiquitous military transport of all the clans of Gael Cygni.

- +1 Legs
- +1 Gauss Autocannons
- +1 Armor
- +1 Shields
- +1 Combat AI
- -1 Reduced Range
- x1 Plasma Cannon (external)
- 30pp/10
- The most powerful mass-produced contemporary AFV in the galaxy, the Doom Braegan - Doom Bringer - is aptly named.
Idris Mawr Command Vehicle (MGF)
- +1 Artillery Cannons
- +1 Extended Range
- +1 Communications
- +1 Command Post
-1 Armor
- 20pp/10
- A large tracked vehicle, the Idris Mawr is found at the back of any operation home to both the all-important planning staff and a brace of extended-range railguns. Their value means they are never found without guards and air defense units.

Designs
Beli Mawr Assault Mech (MGF)
- +1 Legs
- +1 Large-Caliber Autocannons
- +2 Armor
- -1 Weapon Range
- 16pp/10
- The largest and most massive of the old Impiraght mechs, the Beli Mawr is not fast but nearly unstoppable on the move. Unlike smaller mechs, the Beli Mawrs are not solo piloted but have a small crew of 3.
Rega Rionach Heavy Mech (VH Armor)
- +1 Legs
- +1 Large-Caliber Autocannons
- +1 Armor
- 16pp/50
- A hulking biped of armor and autocannons, the Rega Rionach is one of the most common mechs built and used on Gael Gyni and is at the forefront of all major operations conducted by the Clans.
Rhirid Fire Support Mech (VH Armor)
- +1 Legs
- +2 Missiles
- +1 Extended Range
- -1 Armor
- 16pp/50
- The Rhirid is built on the same lower chassis as the Rega Rionach but strips away much of the armor and direct-fire armament to fit a large arsenal of tactical missile launchers.
Madoc Medium Mech (Armor)
- +1 Legs
- +1 Mobility
- +1 Autocannons
- +1 Armor
- 20pp/100
- Designed as the fast 'cavalry' wing of Impiraght armored formations, the Madoc is the other iconic mech design alongside the Rega Rionach.
Morag Support Mech (Armor)
- +1 Legs
- +1 ECM
- +1 Sensors
- +1 Anti-Infantry Weapons
- -1 Light Weapons
- -1 Armor
- 12pp/100
- The Morag is an all-purpose support mech, fitted with a spread of useful battlefield equipment.
Henwen Tank (Armor)
- +1 Smoothbore Cannon
- +1 Armor
- +1 Urban Specialization
- -1 Slow
- 12pp/100
- Low-slung and well-armored, the Henwen is a vicious threat if stumbled across in the tight confines of a city. In more mobile battles they are normally reserved to guard the flanks of advance.
Triath Tank (Armor)
- +1 Smoothbore Cannon
- +1 APFSDS ammunition (anti-tank)
- +1 Stealth
- +1 Urban Specialization
- -1 Slow
- 16pp/100
- A heavily modified derivative of the Henwen, the Triath tank has various measures including emission baffling, mimetic camouflage and a silent electric drive to give it unparalled ability to stalk enemy armor - and a long-barrel cannon firing depleted uranium sabot to get the killing shot.
D’jealin Urban Scout Mech (Light Armor)
- +1 Legs
- +1 Sensors
- +1 Coms
- +1 ECM
- -1 Armour
- -1 Weapon Range
- The standard scout of the clans, mass-produced in the thousands.
APC (Infantry Carrier)
- +1 Mobility
- An unexciting high-mobility APC. Unless you're driving one, in which case they're very exciting.
SAM Batteries (VH Artilery)
- +1 Firepower
- +1 Anti-Air
- +2 Range
- 20pp/100
- A handful of these heavyweight anti-air systems have been introduced by the Connacht in a response that came too late to protect their primary industrial centers from being bombed by Gordon fighters.
Mobile Calliopes (Artilery)
- +1 Anti-Armor
- +1 Anti-Air
- 12pp/100
- These mobile railgun platforms can fire their small projectiles at exceedingly high velocities, making them deadly against both aircraft and AFVs.
Core Infantry (Battlesuit)
- +1 Armor
- +1 Mobility
- 12pp/100
- Massing more than a ton each and straddling the line between power armor and mech, Core infantry are commonly deployed alongside or even hanging off of mechs.
Púca (SPF)
- +1 Laser Carbines
- +1 Demolitions (Melee)
- +1 Mobility
- +1 Stealth
- 20pp/50
- Perpetually on the back foot, the best of the Connacht are often trained not in armored warfare, but stealth and sabotage.
Armored Infantry (Elite Infantry)
- +1 Armor
- +1 Gyrojet Rifles
- 12pp/1,000
- The various Clan militaries (with the exception of the Connacht have long since moved away from large infantry formations, instead using relatively small numbers of highly-trained infantry for tasks that are unsuited for mechanized units.
Connacht Elites (Elite Infantry)
- +1 Aryn-5 Anti-Armour missiles
- +1 Armor
- +1 Urban Specialization
- 16pp/1,000
- When you're hunting big game like a Gordon mech prowling through a ruined city, you need something bigger than a gyrojet rifle.
Connacht Infantry (Skilled Infantry)
- +1 Gyrojet Rifles
- +1 Aryn-5 Anti-Armour missiles
- +1 Armor
- 16pp/10,000
- The Connacht have limited available resources and maintain a large army of soldiers liberally equipped with anti-armor missiles, a daunting threat for any other clan trying to attack their lands.
Sylva 8x8 (Logistics Vehicles)
- 4pp/1,000
- A completely normal truck, painted in various clan tartans.

Castle Robert (Citadel)
- +1 PPC Batteries
- +1 Anti-Air Weaponry
- +2 Armor
- 56pp
- The central fortress of Caernafon is the massive Castle Roberts, a hulking stepped pyramid bristling with surface to orbit PPCs, SAM silos, gauss rifle turrets and other defensive weapons, all protected under massive slabs of armor when not in use.
Hadrian's Wall (Super Wall)
- +1 PPC Batteries
- +1 Anti-Air Weaponry
- +1 Armor
- 16pp
- Named after the near-mythical Roman wall bordering Scotland on Old Earth, the wall bounding the peninsula between Caernafon and the mainland was originally intended to be the last-ditch defense for one of the two most important points on Gael Cygni - the other being the now-ruined former capital of New Edinburgh.
Seawall (Defensive Wall)
- +2 Armor
- +0 Searchlights
- 12pp/10
- To ensure that no hypothetical attacker could simply sail up and take Caernafon from the sea, essentially the entire coast was covered with reinforced ceramacrete walls. These also had the convenient effect of eliminating wave erosion.
Missile Silos (Large Combat Bunker)
- +1 Anti-Air Missiles
- +1 Anti-Ship Missiles
- +1 Extended Range
- +1 Buried
- 20pp/10
- In addition to the already formidable armament of Castle Roberts, several dozen missile silos dot the island, generally under ornamental pools. These are loaded with the lethal Gáe Bolg heavyweight SAM, equally capable of engaging aircraft and starships.
Disappearing Gun (Combat Bunker)
- +1 Anti-Tank Gauss Rifle
- +1 Armor
- +1 Buried
- 16pp/100
- A large number of pop-up gauss rifles are scattered around the peninsulas perimeter, concealed under armored coverings until a foolish attacker crests the horizon.
Security Turrets (Pillbox)
- +1 Antipersonal Needler
- +1 Buried
- 12pp/100
- To protect against infiltrators and infantry assaults too small to be engaged by the heavy weapons suited to engaging warships and battlemechs, several hundred antipersonal needlers are scattered around the island in pop-up turrets. These days they are mostly unloaded to avoid any unfortunate civilian accidents - not that any have actually happened. Yet.
