Code Cravat, the possible Mal-run Code Geass RPG with no presumptious name. It is not known how common cravats will be.

==Background==
==Background==
===Otoro-Wendine War===
You are a young military officer of Wendin. One of you is a captain while three others are some grade of lieutenant. The first four players thus form the 7th Valkyr Platoon. (If we get more than four players, we can sort out non-mecha roles possibly.)
In 2001 IE, the Duchy of Wendin launched a sudden war of aggression on its southern neighbour, the Kingdom of Otora. The aim of the attack was thought to be the capture of Otora's considerable reserves of mineral ''sakuradite'', of which Wendin had no indigenous source. Though a much less powerful country, the Wendine military was well-prepared and had at its disposal, the first mass-produced humanoid robotic weapons known as knightmare frames.

You are also a member of the new nobility. If you are also old nobility, you almost certainly know someone of similar background who was purged but maintain your title and had your status confirmed by the archduke provided you are loyal, able, and give up the feudal exemptions from taxation and the rule of law which were frankly kind of barbaric anyway. If this is your first shot at the upper class, your title was meritocratically granted by the academy when you graduated in a pompous ceremony where the archduke or archduchess (depending on academic stream) awarded you with it.

====Knightmare Frames====
==Attributes==
The world's first mass-produced knightmare frame, '''HiME''', was fairly crude and suffered many issues of reliability. However, it had all the basic equipment and functionalities of modern machines, such as landspinners (mecha-sized rollerskates), slash harken (weaponised wired anchors), and sakuradite-based superconducting core. It typically entered combat with a handheld option such as a 20mm machinegun or bazooka, and had unparalleled mobility, firepower, and protection.
You have 20 points. Max stat is 10.

In the initial stages of the war Wendin's superweapons cut the Otoran military to ribbons wherever they were present, instantly making tanks and all other vehicles obsolete in frontline combat. Though they came close to winning, Wendin proved unable to field sufficient knightmares to secure a quick victory, giving Otora time over the winter to regroup and introduce their own knightmare frame, the '''Prima'''. As it turned out, the Prima had already been under development prior to the war and since they were desperate, the Otorans were more than happy to sell their expertise to other countries in return for aid. The technology for knightmare frames was quickly spread, copied, or independently developed all over the empire.
'''Might'''<br>
Your power and toughness. This is important even when inside your Valkyr as knights are frequently put out of action while their armour is still operational. Those who aren't physically fit have a difficult time even moving the whole affair. Outside the Valkyr, Might governs any task requiring raw physical force, including many melee attacks.

====Defeat====
'''Agility'''<br>
Although other countries remained officially neutral, Otora nevertheless received much foreign help. This, combined with heroism and determined resistance, soon turned the war against Wendin and the war ended with its abolition and annexation by Otora. Subsequently, the trauma of invasion swept a radical, far-right government into power there, and the oppression in occupied Wendin was swiftly turned up to eleven. Everyone there has been suffering greatly since then.
Coordination and precision in movement. Important for a slew of combat actions as well as some non-combat ones.

===Wendin===
'''Smarts'''<br>
Wendin was an absolute monarchy in the north of the continent, bordered variously by seas, ice, and Otora. Though its territory is fairly large, most of it is too marginal to be populated. Since it lost its own One Year War, Wendin was annexed by Otora; its royalty was all executed, its nobility mostly disenfranchised, and its population brutally subjugated. To be fair however, the last Great Duke was an aggressive tyrant of sorts himself.
Perception, book smarts and force multiplier in some circumstances.

'''Charisma'''<br>
This oneshot's all-in-one social stat.

==Mood==
One word that would describe the character's foremost emotion, drive or passion like 'rage', 'vengeful', 'cool' or what-have-you. If picking something that requires a subject (like 'love', 'loyalty', etc.), it should be defined and within scope of the game.

====Aristide I====
==Valkyr Name==
Aristide I was the Great Duke of Wendin from 1984-2002. His reign brought the sakuradite revolution to Wendin, increased rule of law via iron fist, reduction to the rights and excesses of the nobility and rampant militarism. He was considered among the foremost of Wendin's commanders during the war and was a peerless knightmare pilot.
You can't have Baal since that's the Archduke's personal machine.

===Otora===
==Subject Major==
Although slightly smaller in area than Wendin, Otora has about four times its population and was generally better off since its weather isn't horrible. The Wendine invasion devastated most of the country, and it has spent the past seven years busy rebuilding.
From when you were studying at academy. Examples include Political Science, Clocktronics, Engineering, Artillery, Logistics, Elite Piloting, Tactics, etc. These provide benefits that may or may not be within scope for the oneshot.

Otora is a constitutional monarchy that, thanks to the recent war (and a dashing prime minister), has been caught up in a radically right-wing fascist regime. They oppress the Wendinians, though one might say their rage is quite justified.
=Background=
You are a Knight of Wendin. And not just any milk drinking noble handed or buying into a ceremonial title held over from centuries past. You are the young poster boys and girls of a resurgent Duchy of Wendin, among the first generation of Knights with a capital K. You represent the new, proper, enlightened nobility replacing the greedy, self-destructive generation from before the revolution. Although your lord is your monarch, Archduke Aristide I, you also have a loyalty alien to your medieval predecessors - the idea of Wendine state itself.

===United Empire===
==Valkyrs==
The United Empire is an enormous international institution of both legal and religious import. Once a theocratic empire that almost conquered the world, it has become a largely ceremonial over the past few centuries. Steady trickles of secessions tend to be matched in the long term by conquests or reconquests. If taken together however, the United Empire constitutes 31% of the world population, and 45% of its landmass and economy. Both Wendin and Otora, and over forty other countries are a part of this empire.
Also, you pilot a Valkyr, an enormous suit of armour driven by the power of steam and fitted to your preference. This is a pretty big perk as the Valkyr is a monstrously powerful weapon. It handily outpaces infantry and is virtually immune to small arms fire, though it is still vulnerable to artillery. While its primary weapon is supposedly melee, it also infamously carries a Zimmad gun. As of the Battle of Zedan's Gates, it is the most significant of Wendin's several secret weapons.

The imperial word generally holds no ''actual'' power, but its influence cannot be discounted. Unfortunately for the Wendinians, there seems to be tacit approval of continued occupation.
==Places==
===Wendin===
Your homeland of Wendin is a fairly large country but most of it is sparsely populated owing to climate and terrain. Saddled with war indemnities and territorial loss after losing several wars, Wendin was forced to rely on ingenuity to prosper. Though the industrial revolution has spread abroad, it is here in Wendin where it is by far keenest felt. A recent revolution led by Aristide I (who was once only 23rd in line for the throne) purged away much of the old nobility that didn't fall in line. The recent unprecedented secession from the Empire has caused several of Wendin's neighbours, led once again by the Kingdom of Arian, to once again declare war on it.

====The Apostle====
===Zedan Pass===
The Apostle is the leader of the United Empire as well as the religion of Reiism. In the real world, her position might be akin to the Pope, the Dalai Lama, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and the Queen lumped into one. Though her powers are vast in theory, they have never been exercised since the Grand Convention of 1818.
A mountain pass between Wendin and the rest of the continent.

When one Apostle dies, the clergy of the empire wait a year and a day for her to reincarnate into a newborn. She is always selected from a narrow geographic range that constituted the historic core of the empire and is an orphan whose mother dies in childbirth. Any suitable candidates then stand for election among the Cardinals. There is then generally some jostling among the constituent countries of the empire in order to secure some influence on such a pliable political asset.

Character Creation

Will make it more substantial if it turns into a game.

Name

Having one of these is helpful.

Background

You are a young military officer of Wendin. One of you is a captain while three others are some grade of lieutenant. The first four players thus form the 7th Valkyr Platoon. (If we get more than four players, we can sort out non-mecha roles possibly.)

Attributes

You have 20 points. Max stat is 10.

Might
Your power and toughness. This is important even when inside your Valkyr as knights are frequently put out of action while their armour is still operational. Those who aren't physically fit have a difficult time even moving the whole affair. Outside the Valkyr, Might governs any task requiring raw physical force, including many melee attacks.

Agility
Coordination and precision in movement. Important for a slew of combat actions as well as some non-combat ones.

Smarts
Perception, book smarts and force multiplier in some circumstances.

Charisma
This oneshot's all-in-one social stat.

Mood

One word that would describe the character's foremost emotion, drive or passion like 'rage', 'vengeful', 'cool' or what-have-you. If picking something that requires a subject (like 'love', 'loyalty', etc.), it should be defined and within scope of the game.

Valkyr Name

You can't have Baal since that's the Archduke's personal machine.

Subject Major

From when you were studying at academy. Examples include Political Science, Clocktronics, Engineering, Artillery, Logistics, Elite Piloting, Tactics, etc. These provide benefits that may or may not be within scope for the oneshot.

Background

You are a Knight of Wendin. And not just any milk drinking noble handed or buying into a ceremonial title held over from centuries past. You are the young poster boys and girls of a resurgent Duchy of Wendin, among the first generation of Knights with a capital K. You represent the new, proper, enlightened nobility replacing the greedy, self-destructive generation from before the revolution. Although your lord is your monarch, Archduke Aristide I, you also have a loyalty alien to your medieval predecessors - the idea of Wendine state itself.

Valkyrs

Also, you pilot a Valkyr, an enormous suit of armour driven by the power of steam and fitted to your preference. This is a pretty big perk as the Valkyr is a monstrously powerful weapon. It handily outpaces infantry and is virtually immune to small arms fire, though it is still vulnerable to artillery. While its primary weapon is supposedly melee, it also infamously carries a Zimmad gun. As of the Battle of Zedan's Gates, it is the most significant of Wendin's several secret weapons.

Places

Wendin

Zedan Pass

A mountain pass between Wendin and the rest of the continent.

Other

The Empire

Once a theocratic empire that almost conquered the world, it has gradually become a largely ceremonial organization over the past three centuries. Ever since 1688, the imperial word has held no actual legal power, but its influence cannot be discounted in most areas since it still holds religious primacy.

Alkexianism/Third Eye Philosophy

Posits that all humans have an internal mental potential described as a "third eye" that may gradually be opened as a person and those around that person become more enlightened and turn away from superstition, worldliness and dogma.

Equipment

Artaria Arsenal Model 1790
The standard firearm for Wendine infantry is a single-shot breech-loading needle rifle. It is vastly superior to contemporary weapons as it can be reloaded in a single round. As Valkyr pilots, you have a carbine version.

Bellmar Y2 revolver
As an officer, you carry this sidearm, a pistol that can fire up to six times before stopping to reload.

Zimmad gun
The hand carried weapon of a Valkyr. The Zimmad gun is a sophisticated recoil-driven automatic gun with a nominal rate of fire that exceeds 400 rounds per minute when operating correctly but it requires cooling water from the Valkyr's tank – a resource that can run low in intense combat.
