Paradigm:  Summer lives in a world close to the spirit world- he sees fairies in the gardens, nymphs in the woods, and greater spirits. Since his awakening all these have come into sudden clarity, and he has moved from seeing the signs of their presence to seeing how all things are shaped by the actions of the spirits. Summer believes he can do magic by calling upon the spirits that reprsent a given act, be it a spirit of fire to cause fire, or the spirit of a machine to aid the machine. If he wants to heal someone, he encourages their spirit- their literal supernatural essence- or he might encourage spirits of good will or healing to bless the target.
Most of the time, Summer does magic by invoking relevant spirits "I call the spirits of the storm, the thunderbirds of eld. Come down at behest, strike my foe from the very earth!" or something along those lines.
