The Seventh Empire is collapsing as hyperspace breaks down. For many, this is a horrible fate. For you... you're happy. It means you can walk away from your checkered past, start anew. You might have done some unsavory things, or be remembered more for your biggest failure than your many successes. No matter how you came to disgrace, you had it. But now, there is a chance to start somewhere, with a new face and a new life. A chance to start in what the Sindavar Extent termed utopia. But if it is utopia, it is a twisted one, one stricken by bioengineered weapons, war, and hardship. One which might be no better than the collapsing empire you left behind. And the past has a way of catching up to you, no matter what you do in the end.
But you have things to do. There's an evil empire to topple, there's slaves to free, there's a people to unite. There's business opportunities everywhere, there's lives to improve, there's worlds to conquer. There's secrets to discover.

Rules
Full chargen and advancement rules will be posted here once people give me an idea of what they would like to play.
Character Generation
Or: How the hell does a book get printed without full chargen rules?
Step 1
Attributes: 18D split over all 6 attributes, no attributes may be lower than 2D, no attributes may be higher than 5D.
Step 2
Prioritize Skills, Metaphysics, Boons/Banes, Corruption Buffer, and Resources (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th)
Skills: 12D/10D/8D/6D/4D (1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th)
- No skill can be more than 2D above the attribute at chargen.
Metaphysics: 6D/5D/3D/1D/0D (1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th)
Boons/Banes: 8/6/4/2/0 (1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th-Boon points)
- Note: you can take Bane points to get Boons.
Corruption Buffer: 20/16/12/8/4 (1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th)
Resources: 5D/4D/3D/2D/1D (1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th)
Step 3
Modifications: You can take augmentations up to your Corruption Buffer at character generation.
Advancement
Raising a skill by 1 pip (+1) costs a number of CP equal to the # of dice rolled for the skill. 3 pips = +1D.
Raising an attribute by 1 pip (+1) costs a number of CP equal to 5 times the # of dice rolled for the attribute. This includes Resources. 3 pips = +1D.
Raising Corruption Buffer by 1 costs 10 CP per point of Corruption mitigation.
Buying a Boon/buying off a Bane costs 5 CP per point a Boon is worth, and 10 CP per point a Bane is worth.
Houserules
Corruption
You don't roll Corruption to see if you get taken out of play. Nor does it turn you evil, but it certainly is alien, inhuman, and weird. Instead the 2d6 roll is made every session to see if it does Bad Things to you. Bad Things include modification malfunction, tendencies that endanger your personal goals, etc.
Corruption caps at 12. Past that, additional Corruption does nothing.
Nanomods
Reinforced Skeleton: It says it offers damage resistance but does not. Instead of increasing the time it takes to heal face punching and boosting unarmed damage, it should give +1/2/3/4 Strength to all rolls, including damage and damage resistance. Why does it add strength to lifting and so on? Cybermotors!
Characters
As the book doesn't seem to have complete character generation and advancement rules, just resolution rules, I would like to know what people would want to play more than full character sheets at this moment. Post a name and a concept, as well as how your character screwed up here, so I can figure that out.
Note that this is Space Opera, not Space Grimdarkness, and so characters should probably not be dark, awful, unlikable brooding sociopaths. You can have negative character traits or have done unsavory things, but I really don't want Chaotic Evil chucklefucks running around. You should be at least a little romanticized.
