| The Amazonas Interstellar Conglomerate began its life as a group of relatively small Latin American resource and manufacturing companies. Under the aegis of the Resource Development Association, this group bought the colonization and mining rights to a recently surveyed planet which had been found to have rich deposits of base minerals. The colonization went smoothly, and it swiftly began to turn a comfortable profit for the Association.
