Summer Fire, however strong her maternal instinct is, is a spirit of rebirth first and foremost. Burning away all of Richard Sumner's former life, he was reborn as "Summer", the child of Summer Fire. While he still has connections to his previous life, he will always have a strong connection to Summer Fire, and never forget the aid she granted him.
