New page

The Aeon Graybox, or the "Chicago Cube", is a geosynchronous orbital station that holds the Aeon headquarters, as well as highly sensitive items like the Aeon security record.

=Security Staff=
Chief of Security: William Renton, Proteus Division Director

==Trinity Special Protective Detail==
The TSPD is made up of the most high-end, elite Psions that the Aeon Trinity can find, fund, and enhance. These men are extremely elite, trained for everything and anything, and adept at all forms of combat. Do not mess with them.

Notable Attributes: '''Psi 10''', at least one Psi mode at 5 and the other 2 at 3-4, WP 10
Notable Backgrounds: Enhancements 6, Chameleon BioVARG
Notable Merits: High Pain Tolerance, Iron Will, Combat Veteran
==Graybox Alpha Unit==
The successors to Project Utopia's "Alpha Protocol" multinational counter-terrorist group, the Alpha Unit always assigns one off-duty platoon of ~80 men to the Chicago Cube for training and protective purposes. Their task here is dignitary protection as well as security of all high-importance infrastructure such as life support, reactors, and things like the Aeon historical archives.

The Alpha Unit is ~25% Psions, although their Psions are powerful (Psi 6-8) and experienced (one mode 4, one at 3, one at 2).

==Standard Guards==
Even the ''regular'' guards at the Graybox are trained to elite unit caliber and enhanced heavily. Notably, all guards in the Graybox save the low-security "rent-a-cops" are outsourced from Proteus (special operations) rather than Neptune (leadership and administration). This should tell you something about just how seriously they take things at the Cube.

==Backup Security==
There are ~100 more security workers at the Graybox who are not considered full-up Aeon security, but they are trained in the use of firearms, are equipped with life sign monitoring, and do know how to call in an alarm. These men and women generally monitor the low-security areas and are not a high risk.

=Security Measures=
The Graybox is heavily protected by autonomous and semi-autonomous security systems as well as its formidable guard detail.

==Information Protection==
To prevent cyberkinetic intrusion, the server room of the Chicago Cube has its walls and wiring armored with Klot-derivatives, preventing Noetic or Aberrant powers from affecting the system without incurring significant weakening (+3 difficulty). Most high-security walls are similarly protected, and have active Noetic shielding to reduce the effectiveness of clairsentient observation as well as Aberrant perceptive abilities.

The servers themselves are extremely well protected (Failsafe 12) and constantly monitored by some of the finest information security experts in the world (10d Int/Computers pool).

==Sensors==
Graybox cameras are designed for multiple-spectrum (visual, IR, UV) detection and are linked to an AI agent (a Patton running on a mainframe with Surveillance 5). LANSA archways are put in all portals to high-security areas, and all high-security room have Spatial Stress Indicators to detect incoming Warps or teleports. These archways are extremely high-sensitivity (halve final detection difficulty) owing to their large size and the existence of a dedicated server

==Chemical Countermeasures==
Several rooms (primarily the reactor, admin block, and life support rooms) are designed to flood with Eclipsidol in the event of an Aberrant attack, instantly crippling the Aberrant in question. Although anti-biochem gear may prevent this, this gear should be easily punctured by most attacks and most Aberrants eschew technological trappings, preferring their own Taint-fueled powers.

==Weapons Platforms==
Autonomous detector/weapons platform bots are deployed in both low and high security areas. Low security designs are very lightly armored (fists, knives, and small-caliber pistols) and equipped with a nonlethal electrolaser (as taser pistol). High security designs are armed with a coilgun instead and more heavily armored. Most high security corridors also have their own autonomous security systems, including fixed gun turrets, rapid-closing blast doors, and the occasional laser trap.
