Formerly a staff officer with the Sternmarine, von Neustern was interned on Rum along with the survivors of the Konig Edward I. During that time it was claimed he was kidnapped by a pair of twin sister warrior chieftains who claimed descent from a Paradisium noble who found his way to Rum at the end of the Godswar. Under their "protection," the good Kaptain (they state he willing joined them) endured many misadventures which read like a Pendelton boy's story. Upon securing his release from their service the General Staff saw fit to reassign von Neustern from the Sternmarine into the 404 z.b.V. Battalion, which he finds a dubious honor.
