Because of their fully enclosed nature hardsuits are better equipped to handle hazardous environments as well as offering better armoring for the wearer.&lt;br /&gt;

&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Standard:&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; Standard hardsuits are designed to operate in normal battlefield conditions likely to be encountered up to and including limited NBC protection. Most standard suits can even operate for a short period of time in the vacuum of space. &lt;br /&gt;
