	Haeju is a northerly nation that controls a large peninsula off of the Mainland of BLANK continent, near the nations of the Yamato Commenwealth. Like the Ezo Republic, Haeju is a member of the Intercontinental Alliance although there are tensions between it and the members of the Yamato Commenwealth due to a historical and traditional rivalry. Haeju was not a major player in the Great War though it made many contributions to the war effort, including the might of its powerful military. It was however invaded during the war, and while the invaders only managed to take part of the peninsula before the war ended they did a great deal of damage along with what had already been done by bombing raids. And while the kingdom has recovered, for the most part, it is only recently begun to reach the heights of power it once enjoyed. Traditionally it is a combined arms force containing both the army and the navy but recent developments, including the Great War, have led to them becoming two separate branches in practice with the Guard serving as 'high command.' Haeju has a long seafaring traditional and has historically maintained a powerful navy, in part as a defense against the Yamato Empire and later commonwealth. That powerful, and modern, navy was Haeju major military contribution to the war effort but although it made great contributions the fleet also took great losses. A weak land/army branch played a significant role in allowing the Union invasion of the Haeju peninsula and in the wake of the Great War and the new rebuilt military is much more 'balanced.' <br>		The national military of Haeju is known as the Royal Guard.
