	Babel ~~is situated on a fertile flood plain and farmland at~~ the ~~end~~ of the ~~course~~ of the river ~~Warad~~, ~~bounded~~ on one ~~side by the Adad hills (which contribute some late tributaries) and on the other by parched wasteland.~~		Babel occupies the majority of the length of the Warad river, extending its authority into the plains on one bank and the hills of the Southern coast.

	~~The plain itself is densely occupied by villages, towns and the two great cities Emisum (the capital) and Samium. Into the wasteland the only occupants are the hardy men running the chocobo stockades~~ and the ~~occasional group of nomads. The~~ hills ~~are dominated by the presence~~ of the earth node that provides the rich soil and famous stone of the region. The infrastructure of the hills was sadly destroyed by the retreating Royalists, and thus far only the nodetap apparatus has been reconstructed, leaving mining and quarrying operations relatively anaemic.
