=Biography=
They promised her the stars, and all she got was cinders.
 
A sickly child of World War III growing up in the harsh Siberia, Halina's esper powers became known early in her life in a traumatic incident, which started with little Halina going out stargazing, and ended with several wolves killed in self-defence in ways that could only be described as „gruesome”. 

Left with lingering trauma, she was ultimately sent off to a government research institute situated in Yekaterinburg, where esper phenomena were being studied, her parents hoping it could help her come to terms with her powers, and the Russian government, still licking its wounds from World War III, having its own plans.

There, she became a part of a top-secret psychic cosmonaut programme, her powers intended to provide propulsion to conventionally-undetectable spacecraft. For her own part, always fascinated by the stars, the goal in front of her helped Halina go through the constant tests, training and experimental treatments. She was special, and her power was beautiful, not terrifying. It would bring her to the stars. Her parents would certainly be proud.

As it happened, however, this future was not to be. With various backroom deals and power plays made in the halls of Moscow in the struggle between the old and the new, the bitter veterans of World War III won out, and the program was moved from the Space Forces to intelligence services, eager to gather their own esper assets for what they predicted to be a coming arms race and a chance to return to prominence.

Halina took what followed very badly, the vision of space snatched away in front of her and changed into figuratively (but also literally) staring goats to death for the old men that failed to get killed in the hell of World War III in the burnt-out ruins of their former espionage kingdoms. Nevertheless, however resentful, she obeyed. What choice did she have? This was her entire life now. All she could hope for was that the fortunes in the backrooms would shift once more, one day. 

She was recently sent to New Eden, the city with its esper academies and varied population making it easy to blend it, even if the sun was insufferable to the albino girl.

At least there were no goats.
