The collapse of the Chinese arm gave Russia an opportunity to play catch-up with the PRC, though it remains to be seen if Russia's quiet interventionism will backfire.

Zhang Te has maintained its independence, despite both Chinese reconquest attempts and Russian influence, and continues to pioneer transgene technology while serving as neutral ground in the Chinese/Russian cold war.
