=Overview=

== Appearance ==
Noanth is a tall young woman in her early twenties, about 5'8", with pale skin, messy brown hair, and a look of utter terror. Her haircut is a loose bob, -mostly- straight, but not really. Eyes hide behind thick black-rimmed oval glasses, usually reflecting the light of a computer screen. She could almost be pretty if she took care of herself, but with no makeup, messy hair, the extra fifty pounds, and an absolute lack of fashion sense, she's just another nerd. Despite her height, she's not particularly athletic or well-endowed, and seems all too aware of it. 
The woman's usual outfit is baggy clothes, a t-shirt with some nerdy slogan or logo on it, jeans or a skirt, either way black, red canvas shoes, and if it's cold or damp out, a black raincoat that is clearly not a trenchcoat. Really. It's not. 
Okay, maybe it is, but at least she doesn't have a katana.

Noanth showed up at the local Traditions hideout one day, requesting membership in the Virtual Adepts, accompanied by a remarkably powerful Avatar. She's made some extraordinary claims about who she is and what she's done, but doesn't have the extraordinary proof to back it up. Most brush her off as a newbie trying to sound impressive by rattling off facts from her past lives.

As for stuff that can be proven, she knows much more than a freshly-Awakened Mage should, and is equal parts excited and terrified to re-enter the Ascension War.

A tall, beautiful, nearly amazonian woman with icy blue hair and pale skin, Nemesis seems custom-made to draw eyes towards her, and that may be literally true. She's enarly six feet tall, speaks in a clear, almost melodic voice, though with a hint of gentle authority. She appears to be in her early thirties, and usually wears dark casual clothes, though occasionally she'll opt for something more provocative, like a latex catsuit or skimpy workout clothes, for no reason other than to embarrass Noanth.

== Background ==
Why do people always want to hear about what someone's life was like before they Awakened? Is it really that relevant? Fine. Born 12 July 1990. Adopted. Parents didn't like her, she didn't like parents. What she did like, however, was video games. And from there, computers. And from there, the internet. She finished high school young and since then has pretty much lived entirely on the internet.

Fast-forward six or seven years, she woke up to find something...wrong. Her vision was completely rendered in CGI - Matrix code, polygons, early-00s uncanny valley CGI. The only things that were 'real' were her body, and the body of the woman waiting over her bed: Her Avatar, Nemissa. She had Awakened, and with an Avatar sidekick to boot! At Nemissa's urging, the newly-minted Virtual Adept known as Noanth has traveled to London for reasons.

Noanth is a tall young woman in her early twenties, about 5'8", with pale skin, messy brown hair, and a look of utter terror. Her haircut is a loose bob, -mostly- straight, but not really. Eyes hide behind thick black-rimmed oval glasses, usually reflecting the light of a computer screen. She could almost be pretty if she took care of herself, but with no makeup, messy hair, the extra fifty pounds, and an absolute lack of fashion sense, she's just another nerd. Despite her height, she's not particularly athletic or well-endowed, and seems all too aware of it. 
The woman's usual outfit is baggy clothes, a t-shirt with some nerdy slogan or logo on it, jeans or a skirt, either way black, red canvas shoes, and if it's cold or damp out, a black raincoat that is clearly not a trenchcoat. Really. It's not. 
Okay, maybe it is, but at least she doesn't have a katana.

A tall woman with REALLY FUCKING PALE skin, I mean it, she even puts Noanth to shame. Long, icy-blue hair that matches her eyes and lips, wearing a black catsuit unzipped far enough to reveal a black bikini top.

The entity Noanth knows as Nemissa has been around for a very long time. This goes without saying, given she's an Avatar, but there's a point to make here: She's never manifested to such a degree before, or taken such an active interest in her Mage counterpart's development. Something happened during Noanth's last incarnation to deeply trouble Nemissa, but she's not comfortable talking about what. Regardless of the reason, she's made it her job to be the Adept's full-time guide and mentor to make sure whatever went wrong last time never happens again.

She could almost be pretty if she took care of herself, but with no makeup, messy hair, the extra fifty pounds, and an absolute lack of fashion sense, she's just another nerd. Despite her height, she's not particularly athletic or well-endowed, and seems all too aware of it. 
The woman's usual outfit is baggy clothes, a t-shirt with some nerdy slogan or logo on it, jeans or a skirt, either way black, red canvas shoes, and if it's cold or damp out, a black raincoat that is clearly not a trenchcoat. Really. It's not. 
Okay, maybe it is, but at least she doesn't have a katana.

== Appearance ==
Noanth could only be properly be described as, well. A nerd. She is a tall-ish girl, something something boobies. She's not remarkably beautiful or in fantastic shape. Messy, shoulder-length brown hair frames a round face with large brown eyes that seeme to always look just a bit tired. A close look would reveal a light smattering of freckles around and upon her nose. Her body certainly spoke more of a girl used to computer and books than infiltration and covert magical wars. She tends to dress with a certain worried unease. A nerdy gray t-shirt bearing a symbol familiar to those of the Virtual Adept tradition, a pair of black pajamas pants; both hung rather loosely over her body, usually concealed by a black peacoat, apparently reinforced somewhat.

== Background ==
Why do people always want to hear about what someone's life was like before they Awakened? Is it really that relevant? Fine. Born 12 July 1990. Adopted. Parents didn't like her, she didn't like parents. What she did like, however, was video games. And from there, computers. And from there, the internet. She finished high school young and since then has pretty much lived entirely on the internet.

Fast-forward six or seven years, she woke up to find something...wrong. Her vision was completely rendered in CGI - Matrix code, polygons, early-00s uncanny valley CGI. The only things that were 'real' were her body, and the body of the woman waiting over her bed: Her Avatar, Nemissa. She had Awakened, and with an Avatar sidekick to boot! At Nemissa's urging, the newly-minted Virtual Adept known as Noanth has traveled to London for reasons.

The entity Noanth knows as Nemissa has been around for a very long time. This goes without saying, given she's an Avatar, but there's a point to make here: She's never manifested to such a degree before, or taken such an active interest in her Mage counterpart's development. A close look would reveal a light smattering of freckles around and upon her nose. Her body certainly spoke more of a girl used to computer and books than infiltration and covert magical wars. She tends to dress with a certain worried unease. Why do people always want to hear about what someone's life was like before they Awakened? Is it really that relevant? Fine. Born 12 July 1990. Adopted. Parents didn't like her, she didn't like parents. What she did like, however, was video games. And from there, computers. And from there, the internet. She finished high school young and since then has pretty much lived entirely on the internet.

Fast-forward six or seven years, she woke up to find something...wrong. Her vision was completely rendered in CGI - Matrix code, polygons, early-00s uncanny valley CGI. The only things that were 'real' were her body, and the body of the woman waiting over her bed: Her Avatar, Nemissa. She had Awakened, and with an Avatar sidekick to boot! At Nemissa's urging, the newly-minted Virtual Adept known as Noanth has traveled to London for reasons.

Noanth could only be properly be described as cute and nervous. She is a tall-ish girl with a pleasantly feminine shape and not much fat, though the stretch marks that litter her body suggest this wasn't always the case. Messy, shoulder-length brown hair frames a round face with large brown eyes that seeme to always look just a bit tired. A close look would reveal a light smattering of freckles around and upon her nose. Her body certainly spoke more of a girl used to computer and books than infiltration and covert magical wars. She tends to dress with a certain worried unease. First glance? Adler doesn't exactly match the Virtual Adept stereotype. Okay, so she's usually wearing something horribly unstylish like a graphic t-shirt and cargo shorts, or worse, just her pajamas. Her hair's a mess, and the concept of makeup is utterly foreign. Not THAT out of the ordinary, so far. The weird thing is she's actually kind of hot; a little under six feet tall, a toned, athletic build, and I guess she has boobies or something. When she puts some effort into appearance, she more than stands out in a crowd, but that doesn't happen very often. Oh, and sometimes she wears a suit. How weird is that? I thought that was a technocrat thing.

Why do you care about what Adler's life was like before she Awakened? She's got a shitty dad, no mom, and no friends. Ever. School? No friends. Work? No friends. Personal life? She doesn't have one, and never has. The thing you can say about her is she's clever, and likes to show it. That's how she got into computers, and hacking specifically. It's not about getting money (which she does) or the feeling of control and power when she doesn't have either in real life (also true). It's about proving she's smarter than whoever's security she's annihilating or fixing (depending on who pays better; she has to make a living, right?), and then suddenly she DID have a friend. There's this girl, Nemissa. Occultist, hacker, the only person Adler's met that can come close to matching her. Something something strange feeling called 'friendship.' This was less than a year ago; twenty-three years old and she finally made a friend! Yaaaay!

Kind of. In case you hadn't guessed (or read a couple lines below), she was Awakening, and Nemissa is her Avatar. This only came to light a month or two ago, mind. She has yet to sort of fade into the background, as Avatars are wont to do. More important to try and get Adler to operate on her own, which is a full-time job in and of itself. Enlightenment can come later, like when she doesn't need her spirit guide babysitting her to ask a girl out. One thing at a time. This paragraph is really short and I want to tell some other stuff so this isn't going to exactly flow but it's important. It turns out our heroine really doesn't like being cripplingly shy and alone. She recently learned the Virtual Adept (YEAH, THAT'S HER TRADITION, WHAT A SURPRISE, AM I RIGHT?) stereotype she doesn't adhere to is the badass cyberpunk dual-pistols-and-a-catsuit hacker, and is endeavoring to fix that. Can't wait to see how that turns out.

The game is set in London and the Home Counties as a base, but can be expected to move across Britain and France at least, and likely beyond that. Expect the game to be highly mobile, so immobile backgrounds may not be that useful at first.

It's not about getting money (which she does) or the feeling of control and power when she doesn't have either in real life (also true). It's about proving she's smarter than whoever's security she's annihilating or fixing (depending on who pays better; she has to make a living, right?), and then suddenly she DID have a friend. There's this girl, Nemissa. Occultist, hacker, the only person Ingrid's met that can come close to matching her. Something something strange feeling called 'friendship.' This was less than a year ago; twenty-three years old and she finally made a friend! Yaaaay!
