The Born Alchemist

Scholasticism with its subtle argumentation,
Theology with its ambiguous phraseology,
Astrology, so vast and so complex,
are all children's games when compared with alchemy.

Biography

Lysander Tharr, Alchemist, Child, Inspiration. These things and more. A proud student of the Solificati Tradition, Lysander's life had humble beginings. Born to a mother on the run, Lysander spent the first four years of his life in an orphanage, before being adopted by a spotty 'uncle' who saw the potential for something greater in the young boy. Under his uncle, Lysander learned how to fit in with proper society, and when he was old enough was sent off to one of the great academies of hermetic thought.

School was... defining. Lysander learned many things, good and bad. He learned how to lead, indeed, he excelled at it. He also learned secrets. Everyone had secrets- indeed, they thrived on them. It was with the discovery of one of these secrets- that hermetic thought was not just a philosophy, but the key to true power, that Lysander discovered the greater world behind the facade. Studying ancient texts and forgotten lore, Lysander began the study of the most ancient and royal art: Alchemy.

Alchemy is not just a science, it is a philosophy hidden behind the facade of science. The true royal art speaks of the refinement of the spirit, the soul. Of perfecting the body and mind in a unity that transcends the world and achieves a true multidimensional being. It is at once terrifying and idealistic, especially to a young man in search of something to believe in. For Lysander, it became his dearest secret. Soon he learned more lessons from the ancient libraries, and books of forgotten lore. Teasing the information out from behind layers and layers of obfuscation, before eventually arriving at the absolute truth: Magick is Real.

Lysander's awakening was... quiet. A subtle transition from ignorance to awareness within his private sanctum. A successful alchemical ritual, refining the body to a greater state. From that day forward, Lysander saw nothing the same- but he also told no one of what he had learned. The legend lore of the alchemic masters of the past had been clear- those who do not seek the truth in all things, who do not strive to see through the chaos that seeks to erode all things- they are not ready to learn the secrets of the royal art. While the masses are certainly able to benefit from the profits of the alchemist, they are not so able to master its teachings. Alchemy is a long persecuted art, even to this day. The technocracy would see it buried under lies and falsifications- but such barriers are nothing it has not overcome before.

Today, Lysander is an aspiring disciple of House Solificati, under the Hermetic Tradition. A seeker of lost legend lore, Lysander desires to build a future free from the strife and persecution of the past.
