Anima: A razor-edged flower, one part bladed clockwork and one part living thing.

Motivation: Live up to the heroism of all her previous lives by becoming remembered in all of Autocthonia as one of the greatest heroes to ever live.

Appearance and Background

Appearance: Obsidian-Edged Nymphaea is a beautiful woman in her apparent early twenties, lithe with angular features, with iridescent hair, changing from mirrored black to a veritable rainbow of colors, which flows around her head alluringly when she moves. Her body is heavily altered by her charms, and her arms and legs are obviously made of soulsteel constrasting with the rest of her, occasionally their sleek lines marred by the temporary impression of an alien face, with windows of transparent adamant poking through synthetic skin, revealing coiled soulsteel-and-orichalcum muscle cables. Her legs are greatly altered beyond human norm, with bowed lower legs that extend to three-toed feet with retracting claws, and her arms have soulsteel and orichalcum bones which stick through the natural lines of human arms, and her right houses her personality override spike, fingers and hand reconfiguring into a dangerous-looking stiletto. Small crystal spires, extending about a centimeter outward, interrupt the smooth surfaces of arms and legs and spine, projectors for her Impenetrable Repulsor Field, and all limbs possess heavy soulsteel bones which stick through artificial skin as well as intramuscular essence capacitors which power her high-strength myomer and Gravity Manipulation Apparatus.

The rest of her body is in the impression of a perfect human female when not interrupted by sleekly-designed charms, which have been crafted so beautifully and meshed so well with her form that they enhance her beauty, giving her an inhuman attractiveness. Even her exposed soulsteel spine, the tracings of black metal which are her rib-bones extending out from clay skin, fail to render her any less than gorgeous. Her shoulderblades are slightly exaggerated with azure crystal components for her Industrial Survival Frame, and a small black core of soulsteel at the center of her chest where her collarbones join is the system which powers her Transitory Invulnerability Engine, etched with a stylized blossoming lotus and connected to innumerable copper wires which attach it to other charms. Her skin is purest alabaster, accentuated with the adamant and starmetal traceries of her Transhuman Efficiency Array.

Obsidian Edged Nymphaea normally wears a finely-embroidered artificial-silk kimono with flowing sleeves over her omnimodal wardrobe unit, which she tends to set to a simple one-piece undergarment reminiscent of a leotard or swimsuit, as well as accentuating the appearance of her artificial arms and legs with opera gloves and stockings seemingly made of embroidered silk.

Background: Obsidian Edged Nymphaea was commissioned as a Gremlin hunter, constructed by the famed artificer and demiurge Ixoria, famed for his eccentricity as much as his skill in artifice. He demanded that this latest Sentinel be built to his exacting standards, demanding she be built as an immortal legacy, a surrogate daughter of sorts who would remind the world of his accomplishments. He succeeded, and Obsidian Edged Nymphaea stepped out of the vats a vision of loveliness, almost completely unmarred by extreme alterations to the human body plan. In her several years active, she has been an artistic inspiration, a martial trainer, and most importantly a gremlin hunter and warrior, wielding devastating supernatural martial arts. However, as a Scourge of Autocthon, she is largely a failure, being too warm and open to act as an inquisitor or last resort weapon.

Recently, it has come to the attention of the Tripartite that several of her warm relationships with Champions of neighboring cities would divide her loyalties and distract her should relations cool. This, along with her many "un-Soulsteel-like" qualities, along with her very Soulsteel inability to compromise her desire to become an inspirational figure to the Populat, which has sometimes come into conflict with missions requiring prolonged excursions into the Reaches, have given them enough ammunition to demote and reassign her to a much less controversial and high-profile position.
